RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification & First Aid at Work Course - April 2025
St Alban's Sports Centre will be hosting the RLSS UK Integrated National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and First Aid at Work course from 8 - 17 April 2025.
The Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS UK) National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is not only a qualification that will train you to become a Pool Lifeguard but can also be a stepping stone into a career within the leisure industry. It also includes First Aid at Work, a comprehensive first aid course, providing the skills to handle a wider range of injuries and illnesses.
The courses are 36 hours long, plus assessment time and requires 100% attendance. It comprises physical training, classroom work and a practical assessment on lifeguard theory, pool rescue, first aid and CPR. The course is physically demanding, including swimming to set times, lifting casualties and diving to the deepest part of the pool (2.1m).
All candidates must be able to swim 100 meters on front and back, swim 2 lengths in 60 seconds, surface dive 2-meter depth, and be 16+ years on the day.
